Following you will see various photos of our Premier Flower Designer Anabelle Barranco working at Van Vliet & Trap for various Galas, including one at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, during November 2011.

Local Portraits

Have you seen this man walking through the streets of Santurce? His name is Saul Dávila. He walks around all day selling and singing Azucena…Azucena…with a bright smile asking for nothing. But if buy some Azucenas, he will smile harder and wish you luck. Don’t run to buy Loto, just smile back, enjoy the moment and ask him if he needs a glass of water. That’s all he needs to continue his journey. He will walk and continue walking around la Loíza St., Miramar, la Plaza del Mercado in Santurce, Old San Juan and Condado. If you missed him one day, don’t worry, you will see him again.

Just a note: The tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa), or Azucena, as known in Puerto Rico and other parts of Latin America, is a night-blooming plant related to the agaves, extracts of which are used as a middle note in perfumes. In Chinese, it is called “night fragrant jade”, meaning "flower as precious as jade and becoming fragrant at night”.

GaGaween

“I left my head and my heart on the dance floor” – Lady Gaga

And she certainly did. So much to say to the magnificent yesterday’s concert at San Juan, Puerto Rico.  October 31, 2012 was truly GaGaween.
